Sulphate Reducing Bacteria Test Kits | SRB Tests
For the semi quantitative detection of Sulphate Reducing Bacteria.
Sulphate Reducing Bacteria (SRB) are microorganisms that have the ability to produce corrosive sulphide which can, in turn cause a variety of issues for many industrial sectors – such as the corrosion of ferrous and non-ferrous metals and masonry, discoloration of metal fluids and the production of foul-smelling gases.
SRB Test Kits are fast, efficient, and easy to use for the detection of such microbial induced corrosion (MIC) caused by Sulphate Reducing Bacteria, with a large window of detection from bacterial concentrations as little as >10 SRB cfu/ml up to >10⁴ SRB cfu/ml. Results can be interpreted up to 6 days incubation, with high levels of contamination indicated in as little as 24 hours. Each of our semi quantitative SRB Test Kits comprises of x10 plastic tubes filled with selective culture media to encourage the growth of Sulphate Reducing Bacteria. All kits are packaged securely in fitted boxes with an easy-to-follow instruction leaflet, providing all the information required for testing. SRB Test Kits can be used to test a vast range of industrial samples including; Metal working fluids, Lubricants and oils, Water (tanks, environmental, process etc.), Fuel tank sediment, Corrosion pits/surfaces, soil, mud and core.
